Creating Community Through Housing
For more than 40 years, Entre Nous Femmes Housing Society has provided affordable, safe and secure housing across Metro Vancouver. What began as one of Canada's first women-led housing societies has grown into a nonprofit housing provider serving more than 1,800 residents through housing communities designed around connection, stability and belonging.
Our Story
Housing is the foundation for stability, opportunity and community. Since 1984, Entre Nous Femmes Housing Society has worked to create affordable housing that helps people put down roots, raise families and build a future. Founded by single mothers Leslie Stern, Mia Cross and April English with an initial $1,000 grant from the YWCA, ENFHS was created to address the need for safe, affordable housing for women and families. Today, our communities serve women-led households, single-parent families, gender-diverse people, seniors, Indigenous households, newcomers, people with disabilities and many others across Metro Vancouver.
Our Impact
Our vision focuses on more than just housing. We create communities designed for long-term living. Our properties prioritize affordability, accessibility and connection, with homes located close to transit, schools, parks and essential services.
Our newest community, The Creek, honours this legacy, with its two ENFHS residential buildings named Mia and Leslie in recognition of founders Mia Cross and Leslie Stern and their lasting contributions to the organization and the communities it serves.
